VLAN

Image
In general, the switch has one common broadcast domain and a separate collision domain. Due to this common collision domain switch made an inefficient communication. For this phenomenon, CPU utilization of switch increased which made the production network slow. By use of VLAN(Virtual local area network) We can able to logically segregate the broadcast domain into multiple separate broadcast domains. If I go with a general definition of VLAN, VLAN is a process or technique by which logically divided the broadcast domain into multiple separate broadcast domains. By default, every switch has five VLAN's. VLAN 1,1002,1003,1004,1005. We can not delete or modify this VLAN. Vlan 1-Generally all switch port stays in this VLAN. Vlan 1002-FDDI Vlan 1003-token ring Vlan 1004-FDDI default Vlan 1005-trnet Vlan 1002-1005 is a legacy technology, these are not used in the production networks. By default, the VLAN database file name is  VLAN.   day . You can use the vtp file <filena

Routing

Image
The general meaning of Routing is "the scheduling of the route or itinerary of people, freight, etc." In the case of networks Routing is a process by which the router finds the best path for a data packet in between source and destination. Note: there are two types of protocols  Routed Protocol and Routing Protocol. Routed protocol : Routed protocol is a protocol that helps to travel data packets in the network. Like: Ip,  IpX, Apple talk. Routing protocol :   Routing protocol is a protocol that helps to find the best path between source and destination. Again Routing protocol subdivided into two types : Static Routing Dynamic Routing   Static Routing : In this type of routing we are selecting a manual path for the destination. That type of routing is the most trusted routing. Dynamic Routing : In this type of routing router decides what is the best path for the destination base on metrics. That type of routing considers as partially untrusted routing. Pros : Stat

Switch

Image
A switch is one of the important devices of a production network. Many of you who are familiar with switch, how it works all that stuff, who are not familiar with a switch I will try to write about the switch. In technical language, a switch is a layer 2 device. It works on the data-link layer of the OSI model. Switch forwarded traffic base on the MAC address. In the above diagram, I use 48 ports switch, which means 48 host devices are connected with that switch. The switch can have various types of ports as per our requirement, we use.   Classification : Base on the operation switch is classified into two types. Layer 2 switch [forwarding base on the MAC address] Layer 3 switch [forwarding base on the IP address]   Features: Many hosts machine are connected to the network with the help of the switch. A switch is used to form a local area network. In one sentence one subnetwork maintains by a switch. The switch works in full-duplex mode. The switch has a separate collis

TCP popup window in your computer

Image
Nowadays everyone uses the internet, which helps to connect the world. Everyone is familiar with a few common terminologies like IP address, Subnet masks, default gateway, DNS server, or I can say the picture which is down below what is the significance of this window? The simple answer is this all terminology helps to communicate with the outside world. If I asked you how that might be difficult for some guys. Today in this blog I will discuss this terminology believe me guys networking is as easy as to look dangerous. IP address: It is an address that gives a unique identity to our device in the network. Subnet mask: It is used to define network size and how many, host machines are present in a network. Default Gateway: It is a gate where all traffic traveled from one network to another network. Technically It is an interface where LAN is connected to the router. DNS servers: DNS stands for Domain namespace /system. It provides IP to name mapping. In a production networ

EMF survey

Image
EMF survey is one of the important cell surveys which determined an EIRP ratio of the cell sites.EIRP stands for (Effective Isotropic Radiated Power), EMF survey is to perform to collect the EIRP ratio to know about the strength of EMF signal across the BSS(Base station subsystem). NEED OF EMF SURVEY: This survey is performed to check the harmful effect caused due to the high power radiation of the EMF from the tower. TRAI GUIDELINES FOR EMF SERVEY: # Old Guidelines: @ According to the TRAI(Telecom Regularity Authority of India) the survey area across the nominal point should be 20 meters. @ EIRP ratio according to TRAI should be less than 1.        # EIRP<1.   # New Guidelines: @ According to the TRAI, the survey area across the nominal point should be 60 meters. @ EIRP ratio should be less than 0.5.       #EIRP<0.5.
